The costs as you can imagine can vary so much, depending on the materials and finish. The more knowledge you have of building, relationship with suppliers and workers, you can save more money. I have been told a small basic house would cost around 200 million rupiah.

Access to water, electricity, telephone line, even access to your land are all important considerations you need to take into account when you are looking at land.

Foreigners cannot buy property in Indonesia directly in their own name. They need to create a company to buy the property through or use an Indonesian person's name.

My friend has a working visa, which has to be renewed every year. It is the only way to work legally.

Hi Mike,

Do you need special visa status to buy property in Bali?

Also, did you friend manage to secure a long term visa in Bali?

Thanks for sharing the pictures. It will be interesting to follow development.
