Free guide to living and making money in Bali

When I first posted this picture on Facebook my auntie said how she could imagine sitting in one of those deck chairs alongside her husband. If you live in Bali, and I don’t mean just visiting for a short holiday, you can do it everyday! Imagine having your own maid for just $50 a month to do your cleaning, washing and cooking, happy in the knowledge you are providing someone with a job.
Since I started this website, I have had various emails from people asking how they can live in Bali. Jobs for foreigners are pretty scarce here, so you need to get a little creative to earn a living.
I decided to put together a guide to some of the potential opportunities for foreigners to make a living here in Bali.
The guide covers:
- my story and how I make a living
- visas
- jobs for expats in Bali
- starting a business
- doing freelance work
- and more!

I will be volunteering at a Hindu orphanage in Singaraja soon. Kindly let me know, SOMEONE, if there is a gym and acupuncturists in downtown Singaraja. Also, I do want to live with others, in close proximity to others, preferably Buddhist-type people. I’d like to find a small, quiet, simple apartment for rent WITH A KITCHEN SINCE I ENJOY COOKING. I can pay up to about us$200./month, Thank you kindly, Gary from Santa Cruz California
I noticed there was a new gym in Pemaron, which is just outside of Singaraja on the beach. You should be able to get a nice place on your budget. Just ask around. A kos, kind of like a boarding house is another option and should be very cheap.
I have seen some places that offer acupunture, but have no experience with it. If you need help finding accommodation, feel free to shoot me an email.
I’m seriously considering a Bali stint. I think I’d be ok money wise ( I do wedding photography + I design websites on the side ).
I’m going to read more of your posts and then I might be the E-book. Thanks again.
