Slow, slow internet

If you run your business on the internet and thinking of moving to Bali, be prepared for waiting a long time for your downloads and uploads to complete.

I have met a few expats in Asia who play the money markets and need access to fast and reliable internet. I think they would have problems running that kind of business here in Bali.

Indonesia is ranked 131 in the world for their download speed according to speedtest and 112 for their upload speed.

    I run an internet based company providing web base applications and have found the internet service both fast and reliable though slightly expensive here in Bali. Fast internet is available that allows VOIP, streaming video and even fast enough for PS3 online gaming :) my speeds are 2mb up/down – http://www.speedtest.net/result/526858999.png – I would hope no one would honestly expect to do online trading via an internet cafe…
